Round Table Multilingualism and International Justice

On the occasion of the Mois de la Francophonie in March, the French Embassy in the Netherlands and the Mexican Embassy in the Netherlands are organising a roundtable entitled “Multilingualism and International Justice” which will take place on 17 March 2026 at 17:30, at Universiteit Leiden, Wijnhaven Campus in The Hague.

Drawing on examples from the professional experience and expertise of the speakers, this discussion will highlight the importance and value of mastering several languages in the field of international law.

-H.E Judge Juan Manuel Gómez Robledo, Judge at the Cour internationale de Justice (CIJ)
-H.E Judge Graciela Gatti Santana, President of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals
-H.E Mamadou Bamba Hanne, Representative of the International Organisation of La Francophonie to the European Union
-H.E Carolina Olarte-Bácares, Ambassador of Colombia to the Netherlands
-H.E François Alabrune, Ambassador of France to the Netherlands

The roundtable will be moderated by M. Carsten Stahn, Professor at Universiteit Leiden.
